Domaine Pegau Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Reservee 2022

Spicy aromas of ripe red fruit, cassis, toasted herbs, pepper and roasted meat on the nose. Big, rich and full-bodied on the palate, with a long, lingering finish.

Owned by the dynamic father-and-daughter team of Paul and Laurence Féraud, Domaine du Pegau has emerged as one of the most iconic estates in Chùteauneuf-du-Pape. A benchmark producer of traditionally-styled Chùteauneuf-du-Pape, Pegau is justifiably ranked among the greatest wines in the world.

Excellent with strong cheeses and grilled/roasted meats.

97 Points -

A quick assemblage from foudres of the 2022 Chùteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Réservée reveals a dark-fruited, spicy style, enlivened by hints of violets and garrigue. Full-bodied, rich and densely concentrated, with a long, silky finish, it looks to be a near-carbon copy of the stunning, cellar-worthy 2019.
96 Points -
A very dark, structured and full-bodied Chateauneuf-du-Pape with aromas of leather, tar, raw meat and a hint of wild forest berries. Still very youthful and a bit closed, but the abundant fine-grained tannins give this terrific aging potential. A cuvee of 80% grenache, 6% syrah, 4% mourvedre and 10% other traditional grape varieties. Matured for two years in large, neutral oak.
