Aberlour A'Bunadh Alba 60.1% ABV
Aberlour Aâbunadh Alba is the heir to Aâbunadh whisky: from the Gaelic âoriginâ, in homage to the founder of Aberlour, James Fleming, it honours the whisky tradition of the 19th century. It is indeed a âstrength caskâ Single Malt, bottled without adding water. Its production method recalls the powerful taste of ancient malts.
Unlike Aberlour Aâbunadh aged only in Sherry casks, Aâbunadh Alba is a cask strength aged 100% in first-fill Bourbon casks, for a whisky that is both pure and invigorating.
Alba refers to Quercus Alba, the type of American white oak used when ageing this whisky. This oak is particularly suitable for making bourbon barrels thanks to its durability and its ability to absorb water and oxygen.
Coincidentally, Alba also means Scotland in Gaelic.
